RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & EXPERIMENTATION ACTIVITIES

Research and activities to support flower nurseries with in vitro techniques applied to the propagation, rehabilitation and genetic improvement of ornamental plants.


RESEARCH FIELDS
  • Development of in vitro culture protocols (e.g. regeneration via axillary and adventitious buds, somatic embryogenesis) for ornamental species, aimed at obtaining quality phytosanitary and physiological controlled specimens, such as ranunculus, hellebore, succulent plants, statice, carnation, verbena, peony, etc.

  • Development of in vitro techniques aimed at rehabilitation (e.g. meristematic apice cultures, thermotherapy) and supporting hybridization (e.g. embryo rescue, in vitro seeding).
